Chris Chalmers has been with the district since 1989. He received his B.A in English/Secondary Teaching/Coaching from St. John's University and his M.S. in Experiential/Educational Leadership from Minnesota State University-Mankato. He earned his K-12 Principal Licensure and Director of Community Education Licensure from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. He previously taught English and served as administrative dean at Albert Lea High School.
Chris is a member of the Minnesota Community Education Association, National Community Education Association, LERN (Learning Resource Network), Albert Lea - Freeborn County Chamber of Commerce, Blue Zones Vitality Project Co-chair (2008-2009), Albert Lea Y Board (2010-2012), Pioneering Healthier Communities Committee (2009-present ), United Way Board (2007-2011), Blandin Community Leadership program (2007-2008), Albert Lea Hockey Association Board (2009-2013), St. Theodore's Parish Council (2003-2009),
Children's House Montessori School Board (2002-2004), and Crime Victim Crisis Center Advisory Council (2001-2007).
In 1988, Chris was a professional football player and coach for Heathrow Jets in London, England.
