John Double graduated from the University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) with a double major in Physical Education and Health Education, a Mathematics Minor, and Coaching Certification. He returned to UMD and completed his Developmental/Adaptive Physical Education (DAPE) license and received certification in Driver Education from St. Cloud State University (SCSU). He earned his Masters Degree in Educational Leadership and his Administrative licenses from Winona State University (WSU) where he is currently finishing his Specialist Degree.
John Double taught in Lake Superior School District (1995-2006), was administrator at BOLD High School (2006-2010), and has been working in the Albert Lea Area School District since 2010. He has coached for several years including Football and Swimming. He worked in Emergency Services as an EMT on an Ambulance Squad and a Rescue Squad and also taught EMS seminars at both the local and area levels and organized mock disasters/trainings.
John is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Albert Lea-Daybreakers and several state and national organizations which are education based. He has presented for the Minnesota Association of Secondary School Principals and is a member of the Winona State University Ed Leadership Advisory Council.
