Ken Fiscus received his B.S. in Education Earth Science, History, and Geography from Wayne State College in Nebraska. He earned a B.A in Biblical Studies from Nebraska Christian College in Nebraska. His Masters is from Hamline University in Instructional Theory. He currently teaches earth and energy science at ALHS.

Ken won the 2011 National Space Educator Award, the 2007 WEM Teacher Achievement, the 2006 WEM Ethics in Education, the 2005 WEM Ethics in Education, the 2005 KIMT Golden Apple Award, the 2005 Wal-mart Teacher of the Year, the 2004 1 of 35 Finalists for NASA's first Educator Astronauts, the 2004 1 of 10 Finalists for Minnesota Teacher of the Year, the 2004 Minnesota Outstanding Earth Science Teacher, and 2003 Albert Lea Teacher of the Year. He is also a member of the Minnesota Earth Science Teachers Association and National Rifle Association.

Ken and his wife Kelli have been proud residents of Albert Lea and Minnesota since 1991 when they moved here from Wayne, Nebraska after graduating from college. They are the parents of a son, Rigel, adopted from India, and a daughter, Meridian, adopted from Thailand.

Ken is an avid reader, fisherman, deer hunter, star gazer, and tinkerer.
