Steve received his Bachelor of Science degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato in 2005. He earned a degree in Sports Management and a minor in Marketing. In 2012 he earned his teaching certification in Special Education with licensure in the areas of Emotional Behavioral Disorders and Learning Disabilities from Augsburg College, then continuing his education receiving his Master of Art’s degree from Augsburg College in 2013. In 2015 Steve earned his K-12 Reading Specialist certification through Saint Mary’s University.

Before earning his teaching license, he worked as a Para-Professional at Hawthorne Elementary and also as a substitute teacher district wide.

His goals include being a Top 20 teacher.

Steve lives with his wife who also teaches in the Albert Lea school district. Steve enjoys football, golfing, bowling, and staying physically fit.
